Lea Mandana is a documentary photographer.
She grew up with two cultures: French and Iranian. She became an architect in Paris where she focused her studies on the link between ruins and the imaginary. Her vision was influenced at first by memories of her grandfather's cinema in Tehran.
She has been working in Iraq since November 2015, using photography to explore the fragility in the chaos of violence and war. Her work has been published in La Croix, Mediapart, Le Monde des Religions (Le Monde), Grazia, Bloomberg Businessweek, i-D (Vice) etc.
