She has a Bachelors degree in Journalism with a photo concentration and a minor in art from Central Michigan University. During and after college she worked as a photo intern at the Jackson Citizen Patriot (MI), the Concord Monitor (NH), the Muskegon Chronicle (MI), and Valley News (NH).
