Born in Lima, Peru on 1964, formerly a civil engineer, up to 2004, when focused all my efforts into the press photo world. With a degree in Photojournalism and other in Visual Anthropology, at present I am devoted to photojournalism as a freelance documentary photographer working for different agencies from around the world.
I have won some international awards like two nominations in the “Humanity Photo Award 2009” in Beijing for “The hands and the clay” and “…and into marble you shall return”. As well as a Documentary Award, in the “Humanity Photo Award 2013”, in Beijing too, for “Marinera, a flirty dance”
Currently I am the editor of “Fotohólica” a documentary photography online magazine, and author of the following books: "... y en mármol te convertirás", "La Cofradía, Crónicas de un Fotógrafo", “Shipwrecks at Peruvian Sea”, Rocambor, un juego olvidado”, “Brass and Copper Peruvian Coinage die varieties”.
