Liz Hingley

Liz is a British photographer and anthropologist. She holds a first class BA Honors in Photography and an MSc in Social Anthropology with distinction from University College London. Her work has received numerous awards including the 2013 Photophilanthropy award, 2012 Prix Virginia and 2011 Getty Editorial Grant. During a two-year scholarship with FABRICA, a research and communications organization in Italy she made the work “Under Gods” which was published by Dewi Lewis in 2011. She became a member of Agence VU the following year. Her next book ‘ The Jones Family’ will be published by Xavier Barral in 2015.
Liz’s work is regularly exhibited in international locations from the University of Texas at Austin to the Houses of Parliament and the National Portrait Gallery in London. She is Honary Research fellow of The University of Birmingham Philosophy and Theology department and artist in residence of The Migration Research Unit at University College London. Liz is currently based in China at the invitation of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Fudan University. During Paris Photo 2013 her work ‘End Of Lines’ was exhibited and published as the book ‘Shanghai’ for the Portraits De Villes series designed by Be-Poles.
