My name is Lukasz Kazimierz Palka. I am a photographer living in Tokyo, Japan. Primarily, I shoot street photos. That is, I wander the vast urbanity that is Tokyo and I try to capture human life and its myriad connections. In some ways, I think of myself as a wildlife photographer. My craft takes time and patience. Sometimes I must wait for the human behavior to come to me and I must select the location and time carefully. In other instances I must be quick and chase the photograph. In all cases my goal is to record human interactions that are fleeting and special. This we call the decisive moment.
Budding from my work on the street I've expanded into other genres of photography. However, the goal remains largely the same. It is to capture moments fleeting in time and space and record them for their own sake.
In the words of Roy Batty at the end of Blade Runner: “All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...”
