Nicosia, the wounded city
Antonio Lopez Diaz
Nicosia, the Wounded City
A city is a living being , breathing, smelling, beats, life flows through his arteries. A city can not be divided because it was created to be one, because it shares its entrails, gutters, sewers, electrical conduits .... its streets are sought and found walls and fences that separate them. It makes no sense to separate the body of a living being to develop in two separate halves.
This is the case of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, a country that on July 1 it is the turn to chair the European Union. This mandate will coincide with the 38th anniversary of the separation of the island and its capital into two halves.
The daughters of Saint Therese. A cloistered life
Antonio Lopez Diaz
The year of the 5th centenary of this illustrious character of the Church starts in October and I have had the fortune and the huge responsibility of being responsible for narrating with my images how is the cloistered life, how they spend the hours behind the walls of the convents, how is the Carmelite community, the privilege to join the nuns in moments of personal praying, when they come to his beloved, the privilege of listening to the stories that have led them there and depict the spirituality of the Holy daughters.
Horse Racing
Antonio Lopez Diaz
In 1845 was founded the "Society horseracing Sanlucar de Barrameda" with the intent to promote Andalusian horse breed and agreeing holding races on the beach in the town of Cadiz.
Since then the races have become the most popular event in the area. Thoroughbred horses compete during two cycles of three days in August at various distances races on the beach at low tide coinciding.
