Loulou dAki
Athens, Greece
is an independent documentary photographer, born and raised on the Swedish seaside. Her main interest lies in how armed conflict, political tensions and epidemics effect human beings and in particular youth; a theme she explores in her longterm project MAKE A WISH.
d’Aki studied Music before graduating with a Master in photography at ISFCI in Rome, Italy. Since then she has lived and worked around Europe, in North America, Quebec, in the Middle East and in Asia.
Her photographs have been published in TIMES Lightbox, The New Yorker, NY Magazine, Internazionale, El Pais, die Zeit, Stern, Capricious Magazine, Le Monde Magazine, Le Journal du dimanche, Marie Claire, Dagens Nyheter etc...
Besides publications and editorial assignments she has done work for UNICEF, UN, BBC and Save the Children. Her work has been exhibited at Prix Bayeux Calvados des correspondants de guerre, Noorderlicht Photofestival, Singapore Photofestival, The Other hundred etc...
d’Aki was based in the Middle East from 2010 until March 2015 and is currently looking for a new base. In the meanwhile she is available for assignments across the globe.
