Laura is a documentary photographer, filmmaker and researcher, currently based between southern Arizona and the VA/DC area. In 2011, she graduated with distinction from the Documentary Photography & Photojournalism Masters Program at The London College of Communication. Her work is deeply focused on social issues, specifically exploring themes related to immigration, border industry and it's impact on community.
Having spent four years in London, she returned to the U.S. in 2015, where her work is now focused on resistance movements in Appalachia where she grew up, and on the borderlands of the Southwest, specifically migrant detention; a subject which began while documenting experiences of asylum seekers in the U.K.
