Luca Bonacini
Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina
I am a free-lance documentalist, with sociology background.
My works have been published in magazines and newspapers (Corriere della Sera, NZZ, Internazionale) and in international reports of United Nations agencies like Unicef and Unfpa.
In 2004 I realized a multimedia reportage on violence in Brazil, which was edited by “Foto Up” italian digital magazine.
I have been living in Lima, Peru, in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia, Brazil, in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Buenos Aires, Argentina, organizing, in addition to my photographic work, photographic workshops for children and adults (both presential and OnLine courses).
At the moment, I am living in Brasilia, Brazil.

My last photographic (2013-2014) work consists in a series of diptychs combining portraits of people from Sarajevo and a picture of words written by the portrayed person. This is not only about war. More than 20 years have passed, is also about hopes, dreams and concrete demands from ordinary people.
Most of these portraits are of persons randomly met on the street.
The time for a small chat, sometimes around a cup of coffee, and we suddenly make a portrait and the person writes a message.
I say “we”, because I can only take portraits when I manage to construct a deep – even if passing – relationship between me, the photographer, and the person I meet.
In my encounters, my first concern is the quality of the interaction and then I think about the picture from an esthetic and technical point of view.
