Born in Milan, Luca Gasparro (1993) works to tell about reality by images, sounds, and words. His main medium is photography, but he has started to create multimedia projects because he believes in their communicative potentiality. Luca has begun to wonder about human nature since his university studies. After his degree in Psychology, he preferred to come back and ask again to the world explanations about what means living. He approaches reality through stories. They are his means to give back to the world what itself has offered him. He explores and travels to have a better knowledge of what surrounds or moves him. In fact to art, he entrusts the possibility to translate and make containable what is life and how people live. On his skin he carries the “What are we?” question. His worldview now concerns a spiritual aspect of life. Where the man soul sings again with nature. Where the man walks again on an origin ground. Where the man still believes, perceiving beyond, to be one with the world. Be glad and a respectful inhabitant because he feels again to belong.
Paradise Nostalgia is an ongoing research about the idea that life, during ancient times, had a secret of happiness that today men lost. The project takes inspiration from Bruce Chatwin's books on the nomadic way of life. Paradise Nostalgia is a photographic and multimedia journey that explores the man's opportunity to live in an ancestral way of life. It is a research of happiness, like a particular hidden feeling that only those who survive to civilization can perceive. In Paradise Nostalgia, the man can live again as part of the world. He is Life, God, and Nature. I imagine the power to walk guided by the stars. The power to sing what the man did a day. To listen to an ancient story and thus read a map of beliefs and behaviors. I imagine collecting pictures, sounds, and words. To create a new body of work as a statue. Like the Indian, to bring that statue to the ocean, to release it into the world and start to sing again the return of feeling the world and nature like home.
