São Paulo, São Paulo - State of São Paulo, Brazil
I was born in Milan on April 20th 1977. As soon as I obtained a degree at the University of Trento (Italy) in the faculty of Sociology, in 2003 I moved to La Paz (Bolivia) where I worked as social educator with an international human rights organization. Since this experience in Bolivia, I started using photography as a means for investigating people and telling their stories. After I worked for one year with the streets kids of La Paz, I finalised my first project "hijos de la calle", subsequently exposed in many occasions in Italy. Back in Milan, I started working with an agency of research and intervention in tough contexts characterized by marginality and fragility. Since 2008 I devoted myself exclusively to photography working with third-sector organizations and NGOs. So I developed medium and long term photographic projects, both commisioned and personal. In recent years I focused on varied topics such as the Senegalese wrestling, the transsexuality, the myotonic dystrophy and the urban transformations. Since the end of 2014 I moved to Brazil where I taught photography, I worked as a fashion photographer and I started a project about the megalopolis of São Paulo. Cidade da Gaora, my ongoing project on the city of São Paulo was finalist at Lensculture STREET PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2015.
