Got the first reflex camera from his father when turning 18, a Soviet Zenit. Soon after he became interested in the darkroom process and decided to deepen in by taking a distance learning program.
In 2000 he moves to Madrid and studies a two-years certificate program at the CEV´s School, Higher National Diploma on Image Management. Right after, he gets hired in an advertising photo studio where he works in a Sinar environment using large format digital backs.
In the meantime, he assists to the Agency Cover´s Workshops for reportage in Zahara de la Sierra, Cádiz. There, he re-discovers photography and decided to apply to the ICP School in New York. He is accepted in 2004 for the One-Year Certificate Program on Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.
Once graduated he started a project called “El Árbol del Ritmo” ( The Rhythm Tree ) wich is a long term documentary project focused on ethnomusicology. It has an anthropological approach to folk music and to the different ways of using percussion around several cultural traditions of the world.
He is currently based and available for assigments in Nicaragua, Central America.
