Mallika Vora (b. 1990) is an Indian-American documentary photographer based in Mexico City, originally from the greater New York metro area. She has been in Mexico for the last five years and is fluent in Spanish.
She believes in a visual journalistic practice rooted in a deep commitment to human dignity that challenges the viewer to question their value judgments of different intersections of society. Her work focuses on community and family dynamics as a way to understand larger topics such as gentrification, resistance, cross-cultural exchange, and healing after crisis.
Her clients include The New Yorker, LA Times, Vogue, The Lily/Washington Post, Eater and Atlas Obscura.
