Marcelo Pérez del Carpio (b.1982) is a Bolivian freelance photographer currently based in La Paz and focusing on documentary, photojournalism, editorial and architectural photography since 2011. His work was recognized as “Highly Commended” by the Ian Parry Scholarship (2012), PHotoEspaña (2011, 2014) and the AI-AP (2013, 2014), among other recognitions. His work has been exhibited in England, France, Spain, Bolivia and Venezuela and his photographs have appeared at The New York Times, The Sunday Times Magazine, One World Magazine, Sekai Magazine, Travel Telegraph, Verve Photo as well as in several ICRC publications, books in Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina and local newspapers and magazines. He was nominated for the Joop Swart Masterclass of World Press Photo three consecutive times.
Nowadays he continue working with the ICRC in his country and with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil through its Embassy in Bolivia while he develops personal long-term projects and assignments in South America.
