Marida Augusto
Biella, BI, Italia
Marida Augusto is a landscape architect. Having graduated at Turin Polytechnic, she has started with art photography and architecture as Director Assistant at the Pistoletto “Cittadellarte” Foundation in Biella during the past years.
In 2007 she began to work in the editing office of a monthly magazine specialized in human rights defense and refugees protection. For the magazine she was photo-editing responsible and from this experience she has started to experiment both human portraits and report interviews. Through her photos she wants to tell their stories, often results of difficult and tragic lives.
Marida loves to observe people, how they move and walk, how they work and love, how and what they eat, how they live the ordinary life. Thus photography becomes her way to tell, reflect, enjoy, love and to report. For her photography represents an open door trough a world apart deserves to be explored.
Marida attended workshops at the Photography Festival of Lucca (Italy) with Jan Grarup, at “The Rencontres d’Arles” festival (France) with Nicolas Havette and at the Bellaria Film Festival (Italy) with Maurizio Carta
