Marizilda Cruppe

From Mechanics in High School to an interrupted Engineering course in the University and a try to be an Airplane Pilot, Marizilda Cruppe decided to follow her call in Photography. She was a staff photographer for O Globo newspaper in Rio de Janeiro until 2011 when she decided to be independent. In 2005 she co-founded EVE Photographers collective along with five other women photographers from different countries. EVE lasted until 2010 and its work was screened, exhibited or published in Brazil, Cambodia, China, France, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Spain, Ukraine and the USA. She was jury member of Images to Stop Tuberculosis Photo Contest (2009, 2010 and 2011), Estação Imagem Mora Contest, Portugal (2011) and World Press Photo Contest (2010 and 2011). She has been photographing for Greenpeace Amazon and Internacional, ICRC, Oxfam and World Bank. Her photos have been published in the NYT, The Guardian, National Geographic France and Brazilian magazines as Trip, TPM, GQ and Isto É.
