Polish photographer, filmmaker and cultural producer. She holds a MasterDegree in Philosophy and Diploma in Gender Studies from Warsaw University. She is currently finishing Academy of Photography in Warsaw.
Marta spent 8 years living and working in Lebanon & the Middle East and is familiar with that work environment.
She recently has been working as a freelance photographer with several organisations and clients in Lebanon and in Poland e.g. Heinrich Boell Foundation, Center for Citizen Education, Star Foundation, Officium, ProArchitektura. Marta worked as Visual Content Producer with Danish Refugee Council Lebanon. During this consultancy she shot and produced a series of short films and photography essays.
Her socially engaged projects include ‘Exilium’ (2015-2016), a narrative photography project with Syrian refugees in Lebanon and ‘Mixed Feelings’ (2012-2015), which through photography, text, exhibitions, and public events deals with issues of racism and discrimination in Leba- non, and gives space to experiences of Lebanese of mixed origins (African and Asian).
Other assignments include photography for various magazines, websites and NGOs (e.g. Heinrich Boell Foundation, Orient Institute Beirut, Goethe Institute, Transterra Media, CNN, BBC, Reuters, Al Araby TV, The Interdependent, Tygodnik Powszechny, TV5 Monde, Perspectives, ‘Wysokie Obcasy’, ‘Duży Format’, ‘Dziękuję’, ‘Uroda’, ‘Cafè’, ‘Turystyczna’ supplement for ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’, Bożena Umińska ‘Barykady’, Book cover ‘Keep Your Wives Away from Them’ red. Portraits of Syrian refugees
Series of portraits of Syrians, who are involved in activities e.g. committees for self-managements of collective shelters, Cash for Work projects.
One of activities carried out by my client, Danish Refugee Council, in North Lebanon - distribution of improvement kits for tents of Syrian refugees.
