Melissa Roldan
Los Angeles, CA, USA
An observer since childhood, I am curious about people and the cultures they live within. As a travel, documentary, and social photographer I explore this in an immersive and authentic way. In a journey of the senses, I survey the light, textures, and emotions around me and create images that are personal to the experience by evoking a deeper meaning beyond the viewer’s initial experience: a person through gesture, an object through color, or a place through light. Success is when the image equals the intent. Prior work as a print producer and respected photo editor at various stock agencies completes my holistic left brain/right brain approach.
