Born in Chicoutimi, photographer Michel Tremblay is passionate about photography. Photojournalist, he tries to give an artistic sense to the News. In 2003, he grasps at the opportunity to create a different event. He gathers a few photojournalists and lay down a challenge: put in pictures a given assignment and then show their work... in 24 hours. L’Évènement Zoom sur... is born. In 2010 he comes back with a new idea. Why not create an international festival of photojournalism? Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay, international meeting of photojournalism was born in 2010. This first Canadian festival dedicated to photojournalism was established by the International Photo Media Group and La Pulperie de Chicoutimi, Musée du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, from a concept by photographer Michel Tremblay.
