Born under the spell of the Atlantic Ocean, in a land of poets and sailors, Miguel started his art career in Portugal. Since, he acted and directed in Scotland, Czech Republic, France, Cape Verde, Greece, Brazil, Italy, Portugal and the UK. He starred in several feature films, along with a few experiences in TV and commercials. He has a Masters Degree's by the University of London.
Since 2010 Miguel is the Artistic Director of [DESPE-TE], a company that produces and transforms social issues into art, using theatre photography and cinema. In 2011 the north american Creative Visions Foundation named him a Creative Activist for his work in Africa (Cape Verde). He also got his work recognised by both the governments of Portugal and Cape Verde. He wrote and directed a couple of short videos for the web and TV, and he his now developing his first feature documentary. He has been part of several photo exhibitions in Portugal and Brazil, both as curator and photographer.
Miguel is fluent in English, Spanish, French and he gets by with the Portuguese’ African Creoule.

At the gates of the Amazon forest local population finds it hard to keep its territory, where they live, hunt and plant. The region is getting more and more attractive for big industries that use the land for beef, palm oil, soya, or to extract minerals.
