Gregg Mikolasek is the Director of Mongolia Fixers, which handles Project Management, Fixing & Logistics as well as Consulting, for professional film crews and expeditions visiting Mongolia. Since 2011, he has had the opportunity and privilege to work with such well known companies and individuals as Nicola Pecorini, Luc Jacquet, Alexander Skarsgård, Esther Haase, National Geographic, The Travel Channel, BBC Travel, Red Bull Media, Karga 7 Pictures, Dell Technologies, as well as many other awesome folks in the industry.
Gregg holds two degrees from the University of Michigan, including a Masters in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science, specializing in Remote Sensing and Environment Science. He has more than 30 years of diving and maritime experience, as a Dive Instructor, salvage diver, Dive Safety Officer and underwater videographer. Since 2000, he has been a remote sensing consultant and Project Manager, employing sidescan sonar and other remote sensing tools in a number of underwater searches and surveys. He also worked in the dive industry for a number of years as a sales representative and subsequently as the Sales & Marketing Manager for Viking Dry Suits for the Americas. From 2010 - 2017 he was a Director and CFO of the Undersea Voyager Project, a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is undersea exploration and education. UVP is based in California and Gregg established an international branch office in Mongolia in 2012, as a base of operations from which to conduct environmental research in Lake Hövsgöl.
Gregg is a professional skydiver, as well as being an FAA licensed private pilot and also holds a 100 GT US Coast Guard Captain's License. He has been working with drones since 2015 as a UAV pilot and aerial photographer / videographer / surveyor. For recreation, he enjoys river rafting, biking, camping, cooking and exploring Mongolia and its rich history.
