Tom McCarthy Jr. is a freelance photojournalist currently based in Austin, Tx. In his previous position as Staff Photographer at the Catholic Review in Baltimore, Md. he recieved multiple awards for his visual coverage of life in the Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore from 2012 through 2014. Prior to that, he served as Director of Photography and lead photographer at the Vero Beach 32963 newsweekly where he set the tone for the paper's weekly photographic representation. His work has also been publish in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Peoria Journal Star, The Gainesville Sun, Business Insider Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. McCarthy enjoys people, color(s), big cities, small towns, sunrises, sunsets, thunderstorms, sci-fi novels and...um, photography, of course. He is available for assignment in the greater Austin, Tx. region and beyond.
