Denver, Colorado, United States
Morgan was born in Goleta, California in 1975 and grew up outside Houston, Texas. He returned to California to study at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara and was the first to graduate from the renowned Visual Journalism program. While in school he held a staff photographer position at the Santa Barbara News-Press and shortly after graduating became Photo Editor at the Ventura County Reporter. Not satisfied with the ability to adequately spend time with his subjects, in 2004 he left the newspaper world and moved to Los Angeles, California where he could pursue his passion for long-form documentary photography. During that time he also found himself learning from and working alongside some of the best editorial, product and automotive photographers in the world. In 2011 he relocated to Denver, Colorado with his wife to explore new horizons, photographically and otherwise.
Much of his documentary work consists of self-assigned personal projects. He has covered stories in Israel, Palestine, Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), Nicaragua and Mexico, but recently he has turned his eye to the United States. He is currently working on a body of work called, "An American Dream" which examines various issues and themes related to the customs, heritage, ethos and events effecting the United States.
Morgan's award winning projects have been featured in various print and online publications and he continues to exhibit his work in both solo and group gallery shows in the United States as well as internationally.
