Moriah Ratner

Moriah Ratner is an award-winning freelance photojournalist based in Portland, Oregon. She received a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from Syracuse University and minored in psychology.
Moriah believes photography is a universal language and is committed to using it not only to help people but to increase and challenge our perceptions of the world. Her work has been featured by The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic, NPR, Bloomberg News, The Associated Press, Getty Images, and others.
Moriah is a member of Women Photojournalists of Washington, National Press Photographers Association, and the White House News Photographers Association. Moriah is the 2018 recipient of WPOW’s Lena Grant, the 2018 recipient of NPPF's Reid Blackburn and Richard Clarkson Scholarships, and the 2017 recipient of the Virginia News Photographers Association George Smith Memorial Scholarship. Moriah won first place in the 2018 Hearst Journalism Awards Program for Picture Story/Series and gold in the documentary category of the 73rd College Photographer of the Year contest. Moriah attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXX, the New York Times 2018 Portfolio Review and the 71st Missouri Photo Workshop.
