Mohammad Rakibul Hasan, a Bangladeshi-born photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist, has dedicated over two decades to capturing critical issues in human rights, social development, politics, environment, and spirituality. Hasan’s educational background includes a One-Year Certificate in Creative Practices from the International Center of Photography (ICP), a BA (Honors) in Photography and a Postgraduate Certificate from Falmouth University, a Certificate in Art History and Philosophy from Oxford, a Postgraduate Diploma in Photojournalism from Ateneo de Manila University, and a Film and Video Production degree from the University of Sydney. He has further honed his craft through numerous masterclasses in filmmaking.
Hasan's storytelling has won him prestigious accolades, including the Lucie Award, One World Media Awards, Human Rights Press Award, Allard Photography Prize, PX3 Prix de la Photographie, and over two hundred additional awards. His work has been showcased globally in events like Photo Basel, Shanghai Photo Festival, NordArt, Berlin Photo Festival, Belgrade Photo Month, and Indian Photo Festival, and his films have screened in major international festivals.
As a photojournalist, Hasan has contributed to renowned outlets such as BBC, Le Monde, and Reuters. His collaborations with humanitarian organizations like the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, ActionAid, WaterAid, Oxfam, UN Women Asia Pacific, WHO, IFRC, and more have resulted in over fifty documentaries and extensive photographic projects across Bangladesh, Nepal, Panama, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Hasan’s work is represented by °CLAIR Galerie in Switzerland, and he is affiliated with agencies like ZUMA Press, Redux Pictures, Inter Press Service, and the Thomson Reuters Foundation. A Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Fellow and TEDx speaker, Hasan’s contributions to global visual storytelling are widely celebrated.
