He graduated from the Marketing Department at Uludağ University in 1987 and the Art of Photografphy Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University in 1991. While studying, he made photo reportages for newspapers and magazines, worked as a freelancer and participated in various group exhibitions. He focused on advertisement, fashion photography, wedding and special day photography in his own studio that he founded in 1998 in İstanbul. He conducted Photography and Marketing Communications lessons in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University’s Art of Photography Department during 2008 and 2010. Between 2009 and 2011 he instructed on Advertising Photography lessons in Işık University’s Graphic Arts and Graphic Design Department.
About the end of 2010, he wrote the manifest and led the establishment of Association of Professional Photographers (FMK) that was established to focus on solving the problems of photography industry and its workers. Between 2010 and 2013 he worked as FMK President. He is still a member of FMK Inspectorate.
In 2013 his instruction book on “Wedding Photography” was published by Say Publishing; in 2014 Architecture and “Architectural and Real Estate Photography” was published by Inplato Photo Library .
As the founder and director of inplato studios, Mustafa Turgut continues to organise training sessions about all areas of photography for amateurs, advanced amateurs and professionals. He also gives technical and artistic advise to institutions and he still shoots photos.
