I am a Norwegian freelance travel and culture writer and photographer, drawing from a background of more than 10 years of work with the UN and NGOs and environmental protection research in Asia. With live & work experiences in Afghanistan, China, East Timor, the Philippines and Indonesia, and from frequent visits to a handful of other Asian countries, I cover a range of topics from cultural manifestations in remote tribes, to refugees and war and conflict affected communities, and pure travel writing and destination stories. My preferred modus operandi is traveling light, fast and low profile.
I was born in Bergen, Norway, but for the most I live in Yogyakarta, the cultural cradle of Java and Indonesia, and with frequent domestic and international travels.
