Natasha Pizzey has extensive experience in news and documentary production across Mexico, Central America and Brazil.
She has worked as a news producer (Al Jazeera English and China’s CCTV), fixer (the Financial Times, Global Post, and AFP), and freelance writer (Tico Times and Makeshift). Before moving to Mexico, she was based in Guatemala and focused on promoting a local family planning NGO through photography and blogging. During that time, she co-produced a documentary about maternal health in Guatemala, ‘Blessed Fruit of the Womb’, which was an official selection for the United Nations Association Film Festival.
Her experience ranges from coordinating a rare interview with Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega, to spending months embedded with indigenous midwives in rural Guatemala and producing live television reports from the depths of the Brazilian Amazon. Natasha is Colombian and British, and fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
