Raised by intrepid parents between Alaska and Idaho, I began flying with my father at an early age over the vast expanse of tundra, basin and range. As a land surveyor, he worked at the edge of civilization and I often tagged along to these magical places.
My main concern lies in giving voice to the land through the visual. I am fascinated by scale and spatial relationships, and enduringly curious about memory, connections and idiosyncrasy. My deep sensitivity to nature is inherently informed by my Native American ancestors; my experience of space cultivated from a youth spent in the wild places.
Currently, I am at work on a personal project in the Middle East about landscapes of conflict.
