Cyril NDEGEYA is Rwandan Professional Photojournalist since 2009,a married and father of a little girl. Photojournalism is a career he ventured in after four years working with Radio stations as a presenter and a technician(2004-2008).
During his journalism career,Ndegeya participated in different trainings and workshops including:
•The Film on Youth by Youth( FY2) training in Departments of Camera, Lighting and Still Photography organized by the Swedish Goteborg Film Festival and Rwanda Cinema Center(2007)
•Rwanda now: Improving Journalism One Story at a Time” media training workshop organized by Rwanda Initiative in partnership with Carleton University of Canada (2008)
•Rwanda in Photographs Workshop organized by King’s College, London (2013)
•Photojournalism Workshop by Thompson Reuters Foundation(July 2015)
•High risk Environment and First Aid Training(HEFAT) - Jan-Feb 2016 offered by The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) among others
Through local news websites his artistic touch in photography was also quickly captured by big and re-known media houses especially The Nation Media Group through its known regional newspaper The EastAfrican; The French magazine JEUNE AFRIQUE and Agencies like AFP and Associated Press, which currently use him as their Rwanda-based Photographer.
In addition to these multiple tasks, Mr. NDEGEYA was the only outstanding photographer from Rwanda selected to be invited for a 3 months residence in the alpine South part of Switzerland where through a photo documentary exhibition, he highlighted the “The cycle and the management of water from the source to its return to the nature”
