Nick Hannes (°1974, Belgium) studied photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent (Belgium). He published three books: ‘Red Journey’ (2009), Traditions (2011), and ‘Mediterranean. The Continuity of Man’ (2014). He is currently working on a new book about the leisure industry in Dubai. Since 2008 he teaches documentary photography at the School of Arts in Ghent.
He exhibited at Thessaloniki Biennial for Contemporary Art, Bozar Centre for Fine Arts (Brussels), Museum Narodowe (Szczecin, Poland), Flanders Center (Osaka, Japan), Breda Photo (Breda, NL), Visa pour l’Image (Perpignan, France), Kaunas Photo (Lithuania), Museum of Photography (Antwerp, Belgium), Foto Istanbul, Athens Photo Festival, Fotofestiwal Lodz (PL), Head On Sydney, PhotoMed Beirut, Centro Andaluz de la Fotografia (E) amongst others. In 2009 and 2013 he was awarded the Nikon Press Photo Award. Hannes is represented by Cosmos Photo (Paris).

Nick H
From 2010 to 2014, I travelled the length and breadth of the Mediterranean shores, documenting various contemporary issues such as tourism, urbanization and migration in 20 different countries.
