Nick Bolin is a visual journalist living in Athens, Ohio. He is currently working on a master’s degree in Visual Communication Management at Ohio University where he also earned his bachelor’s degree in photojournalism.
During his studies he worked for the student and local newspapers, Ohio University’s School of Music, WOUB Public Media, and the Athens County Visitor Bureau. For 7 years Nick produced content for the Ohio University marching band, traveling with the band for multiple domestic and international performances capturing imagery of both the current and alumni bands.
Nick has worked in broadcast video as a production assistant and cameraman for ESPN. He also assisted with the PBS production of Our Town: Athens, a documentary film showcasing his skills in filmmaking, reenactment, and aerial imagery.
As the media team leader and photographer for Athens Race for a Reason, he has volunteered his services. He was responsible for managing photographic team coverage of multiple race events, while creating promotional marketing imagery.
Nick has donated images and consulted on page design for the Athens and the Vinton County High School yearbooks. He has also documented the Athens High School Senior Follies since 2012. Nick has helped the Southeast Ohio History Center with historical preservation, documentation, and creating interactive maps of historical locations.
