Nicky Quamina-Woo is a documentary photographer based between Indonesia, Tanzania and New York City.
She learned her craft at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she worked as a commercial photographer before following her heart to more in-depth documentary work.
Nicky's abiding fascination with the beauty of the human spirit, influences her approach to image making. In 2020 she won the Nikon-Stafford award and in 2018, she was selected as a Reuter's Storytelling Grant recipient for her work in Tanzania.
In her time as an independent, her clients have included Blooomberg, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, CNN, Apple, Time magazine, Marie Claire, Oprah magazine, and Buzzfeed.
