Nicolas Réméné is a French photojournalist now based in Dakar, Senegal, after more than 15 years in Mali (West Africa).
He studied biology and environmental management at the Université des Sciences de Marseille, before deciding to pursue his career as a photographer, mainly covering news from the Sahel and working on social, environmental and security issues on the African continent, as well as in Latin America, where he has travelled extensively.
He works regularly with the international press, including Agence France Presse, Le Monde, Libération, Le Figaro, Le Point, La Croix, L'Express, Jeune Afrique and the New York Times.
He has also covered photographic campaigns for various international institutions such as the ICRC, the World Bank, the ICC-FPV, the United Nations and the European Union, as well as for NGOs and development agencies (GIZ, ENABEL, Aga Khan, EnDev, Makmende Media, DCAF, DIIS, SIPRI, Sightsavers, FRES, MISEREOR, GERES etc.).
Communication consultant for UNESCO and photographer for the project: ‘Creation of a training course on ancient manuscripts’ in Timbuktu from 2020 to September 2023.
Nicolas is represented by the agency Le Pictorium. He is currently in Dakar and is available for assignments all over the world.
