Nina Riggio

Nina Riggio is a visual journalist based in San Francisco, CA and Reno, NV. She is available for assignments in California and beyond. Nina lives to tell the stories about human connections to the natural world and all of the flaws that go with it. She is passionate about uncovering overlooked corruption and abuse within our systems of day to day life.
As a born and raised southerner living in the West, Nina’s work is driven by an urge to connect people from drastically different backgrounds and beliefs. Vulnerability and trustworthiness is what she aims to create within her photographs.
In 2019, Nina attended the 71st Missouri Photo Workshop where she was the recipient of the Howard Chapnik Award for documenting social issues with honesty and integrity. (Link) She hopes to continue working to document human conditions of all scales.
She biked across the country in 2018 and hiked across Colorado in 2015.
She has been recognized by Lenscratch, A Photo Editor, The Soft Lighting Studio. She participated in countless workshops at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops assisting photographers Nick Rapaz, Jeff Lipsky, Ed Kashi, and Aline Smithson. Nina holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Colorado College in Anthropology and Photojournalism.
When she’s not making photos she does Archaeology and loves rock climbing.
