Nneka Iwunna Ezemezue is a Photographer and Visual artist living and working in Lagos, Nigeria. She studied Graphic Design at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Lagos, Nigeria during which she participated in a Photography exchange program with École Nationale Supérieure Des Beaux Arts Paris. She also participated in ‘Crossing Compasses’, another Photo exchange between Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin and YABATECH Lagos.
She explores themes on people, tradition, religion, environment and other societal issues.
Her work has been exhibited at the Crossing Compasses, David Dale Gallery, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Scotland (TNI.ACP), Goethe Institute Cultural Heritage Photography Masterclass, The Nlele Institute (TNI.ACP) Lagos Open Range and Canon Photo storytelling. Her work has been published in Dienacht magazine and featured in Journ Africa, British Journal of Photography and The Guardian.
She is a Magnum Foundation Fund 2017 grantee, nominated for Joop Swart Masterclass 2018, shortlisted for the Contemporary African Photography prize 2018 & 2019 and a participant at the New York Times Portfolio Review 2019.
