Nneka Iwunna Ezemezue
Nneka Iwunna Ezemezue is a visual artist working with photography, graphics and video. Often drawing from personal experience, she investigates themes relating to culture, tradition, gender politics, environment and community.
She is a grantee of Magnum Foundation Fund for her project Left Behind and Art Moves Africa. Her works has been exhibited at the Crossing Compasses in Lagos and Berlin, David Dale gallery in Glasgow, Goethe Institute in Lagos, Lagos Open Range, Lagos Photo festival, Addis Foto Fest in Addis Ababa, Lagos Biennial in Lagos, Photoville Fence in New York, among others.
Her works have been published in books and websites such as Dienacht magazine, Journ Africa, British Journal of Photography, The Guardian and World Press Photo Witness - Four to Follow. A member of African Photojournalism Database and Women photograph, she was also a participant at The New York Times Portfolio Review, nominated for Joop Swart Masterclass, shortlisted for the Contemporary African Photography prize and a mentee of the Fast Forward: Women in photography.
Nneka lives in Lagos, Nigeria.
