Norbert von der Groeben is a photojournalist with more than 25 years of experience in the newspaper and magazine business. His pictures have appeared in People magazine, Business Week, Vanity Fair and in newspapers across the country. He worked as a staff photographer for the Contra Costa Times, an award-winning daily in the Bay Area, for more than 17 years, covering U.S. presidents, celebrities, breaking news and feature pictures. His pictures have won several major journalism awards. Von der Groeben worked as chief photographer supervising a staff of three at the Palo Alto Weekly for five years. Von der Groeben is a native of Palo Alto who graduated with a degree in visual communicatons from Long Beach State University. In addition to his work in newspapers and magazines, von der Groeben published a children’s book, “Fire Station Number 4,” with Bay Area author Mary T. Fortney.
