Jas and Mell. I believe meeting them led to me making many more meaningful connections, connections I'm now documenting in my new photography project. My life changed the day I met them. I love and appreciate them beyond words. New York, New York. 2019. Analog photography. This photo series is a collection of visuals to aid the story of my artistic journey through human connection. Currently my favourite picture of my Grandad because Nana's humour is literally the reason for this smile. This is part of an ongoing documentation series at my grandparents’ house over the years - mostly my Grandad, because Nana is very camera shy. It started off as a way to practice shooting analog but over the years I realized I was also collecting candid moments of their daily life for us to look back to. Toronto, Ontario. 2019. Analog photography. This photo series is a collection of visuals to aid the story of my artistic journey through human connection. For more info on the photo series, visit www.nyaomi.com/2020bc
A reflective moment in Cafe Verona. I stumbled across this restaurant while strolling La Brea and ended up having an amazing conversation about human connection with Tanyell Waivers. I did a lot of reflective writing here. Los Angeles, California. 2018. Analog photography.
