Oliver Contreras is a freelance photojournalist Based in Washington, D.C., and also works as an Assistant Photo Editor at the Washington Post.
His focus is local news and stories of particular interest to the Hispanic community. He is shooting freelance for The Washington Post, New York Times, AFP, Bloomberg, Getty Images, SIPA USA, EFE News and also had collaborated with National Geographic, Time Magazine, among others.
During the past nine years, Mr. Contreras has been recording the experiences of Latino immigrants in the United States. His interest has taken him to Central America, the U.S.-Mexican border, the Caribbean, and cities across the United States where he has uncovered immigrants’ identity, determination, and dedication.
Oliver has a Master's in New Media Photojournalism at Corcoran School of Art + Design, The George Washington University.
