Oliver Tooke (b. 1990) is a British freelance documentary photographer. He mostly works on long term personal projects, with work from China, Ukraine and across the Middle East and Europe.
For the past two years, Oliver has been working on a project about Syrians and their exodus to a better life, their mixed dreams of revolution, and the injustices they face where ever they go. The project is a mix of colour landscapes of Syria, and B&W documentary images, mixed with images taken from the phones of Syrians during the war and their journey to safety, spanning 11 countries. Early work from the project has been exhibiting in 2014-2015.
Oliver graduated from the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography course at the University of Gloucestershire in 2014. In September 2014, Oliver was shortlisted for the Magnum/Ideastap Photographic Award, was a finalist for the AOP awards in October 2015 and was shortlisted for the 2015 Bar Tur Photobook Award.
