Olivier Saint-Hilaire was born in 1972 in Créteil, France. He began by photographing the landscapes of his Parisian suburb, its tower blocks and his friends. Urban explorations, collective experiences, squats… trying to invent a livelier life.
Olivier Saint-Hilaire works both in silver film and digital formats, both in color and in black and white. He is passionate about details, about what goes on within the frame and alongside its borders.
In 2011, after traveling to Tunisia and Lybia with his stills camera, Olivier Saint-Hilaire returned to France determined to pursue his work with images. Since 2012, Olivier works from, with and within the great enigma that is the French hexagon.
In his photography, Olivier focuses on what remains unseen to the eye, sometimes because it is too familiar, what reveals the past as much as the questions to come.
Olivier Saint-Hilaire joined HAYTHAM Pictures in 2013.
