Parisa Azadi

Parisa is an Iranian-Canadian documentary photographer working in the Middle East for international media. She is based between Dubai and Iran, covering the region.
In 2012, Parisa lived and worked in Uganda for a year, documenting the problem of violence against women with disabilities in the aftermath of civil war. Parisa was a 2015 Artist in Residence at the Bronx Documentary Center in New York City under the direction of Mike Kamber. In 2018, Parisa was selected as the recipient of the Kooshk Artist in Residence program in partnership with Pathshala Institute in Bangladesh. In 2019, Parisa was selected as the recipient of the Chris Hondros Fund Award, the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXII and shortlisted for the PHmusuem Women Photographers Grant.
Parisa has been published in the New York Times, The Guardian, Casa Vogue, Associated Press, BBC, Glamour, Christian Science Monitor and Washington Times. Other clients include Malala Fund, Sesame Workshop, International Rescue Committee, Northwestern University in Qatar, East Wing Gallery, Gulf Photo Plus, and Raising Voices in Uganda.
