Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines
I was born in 1983 near Rome, Italy. My father was a movie director and writer. I was still a little boy when my father put a camera in my hands telling me how to use it. Many years then have passed before I realized that I would spend my life taking pictures. It happened one day when I was 21 years old and very confused about my future. My mother, who understood my perplexity, gave me a book about photography. A very simple one. Just how a camera works. I read that book day and night and I remember having discovered a bright new world. After a month I understood that I would spend the rest of my life working as a photographer.
In 2007 I moved to Milan to study photojournalism. Soon after I started to travel, mostly in Asia, my first love. Creating a portfolio and gaining experience, I learned how to travel and how to cover events worldwide. In 2009 I won a scholarship at the Danish School of media and Journalism thanks to my work about the end of the civil war in Sri Lanka. Following the international semester about visual storytelling I learned a lot about personal vision.
In 2010 I entered the Getty Images Emerging Talent section while living in London thanks to the coverage of the Red Shirts protesters in Bangkok that same year. Since 2012 I am an independent photographer working with clients worldwide. At present time I live in the Philippines and working on my book "Arcipelago".
