After working in a commerical job, Peter Bitzer (born 1954) followed German studies and political science in Marburg, Germany. He graduated in 1986, worked for Marketing & Sales for a weekly political newspaper and as director of marketing for laif agency and Bilderberg. In 1992 he returned to laif as the managing partner. Under his direction the agency developed into one of Germany’s top suppliers of magazine and travel photography and photojournalism. Peter Bitzer works with over 400 photographers and 40 international picture desks. Today he is the CEO of laif. Member of various photojournalistic juries. Teaching Photo Edie at Dortmund. Married, one daughter.
