Philémon Barbier
Toulouse, France
Passionate about photography and history since childhood, through his photographic work he wishes to take a new look at the world's evolutions. He likes to work on long term social issues and is particularly interested in the condition of children across the continents, in the stories of civilians affected by war or social crises. His approach seeks to be as close as possible to the human condition. It is through this prism and by relying on the dynamics that shape contemporary events that he tells the stories of those he meets.
In 2015, he discovered the world of photojournalism and began to cover events and other news in his region, Occitania, in order to document them.
He graduated from the photojournalism course at EMI-CFD under the direction of Julien Daniel and Guillaume Herbaut in 2020. He also joined the Hans Lucas studio and co-founded the Hors Format collective.
He's based in Toulouse and Paris but he's available everywhere for any photographic order.
He has worked with various media such as L'Obs, Le Pèlerin, Le JDD, La Croix, L'Hebdo...
