Born in 1981. Studied political science at Philipps-Universität Marburg and Freie Universität Berlin and photojournalism and documentary photography at University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover. Since 2007, he has been working as a freelance photographer for newspapers and magazines and several NGOs. Kai worked in various countries in South America, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. His work has been exhibited internationally in numerous shows and festivals and has received awards from Magnum Emergency Fund, UNICEF POY, Days Japan, Henri Nannen Award, PDN Photo. He taking assignments from Geo, Der Spiegel, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Stern, among others. Kai is represented by Laif photo agency.
