As Director of Photography Pfister developed, implemented and redesigned the visual language of the news outlet ZEIT ONLINE. He has more than a decade experience in international visual journalism productions. His work was published and exhibited internationally. As a frequent consultant, lecturer, curator and teacher he interacts with key decision makers as well as upcoming talents in the field of visual journalism and beyond.
He worked together and assigned photojournalists all around the world: Alixandra Fazzina/NOOR Islamabad/Pakistan, Christoper Morris/VII, Dominic Nahr/Magnum Photos (Nairobi), Sanjit Das/PANOS (Delhi), Meiko Herrmann, Jan Grarup (Copenhagen), Carolyn Drake/Panos (Istanbul), Nina Berman/NOOR New York, Shiho Fukada/PANOS (Beijing), Abbie Traylor-Smith/PANOS (London), Miller Mobley/REDUX (New York).
From 2008 – till January 2010 photo editor current affairs at laif agency for photography and reportage cologne. edited The New York Times photo syndication, REDUX PICTURES - Photo Agency New York, NOOR, Oeil Public, and worked together with Photographers like Mikhail Galustov (Kabul/Afghanistan), Sean Gallagher (Beijing), Christoph Bangert (Central Europe), Emmanuel Fradin (Paris), Malte Jaeger (Berlin), Mila Teshaeva (Kiev), Pieter-Jan De Pue (Ghent)
