Patrick prides himself on being a storyteller. Plain and simple.
He is a staff photographer at the Arizona Republic and May 2012 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Patrick approaches every assignment with the same excitement and intrigue he has had since beginning his photographic career.
Patrick has shot in-depth photo projects in Kyrgyzstan (2012) covering homelessness, Kazakhstan (2011) covering poverty and political change and Bolivia (2011) covering indigenous people.
Patrick has won awards at both the state and national level. In 2010, Patrick was named Nebraska's News Photographers Association's CPOY along with awards in the sports, feature and picture story categories. In 2011, Patrick won a 10th place in the Hearst Multimedia I competition and a 6th place in the Hearst Photo I competition.
In 2012, Patrick won a 6th in Hearst Multimedia III competition and a 3rd place in Hearst Picture Story competition, qualifying him as both a Finalist in Multimedia and a Semifinalist in the photo competition. From the 67th Annual College Photographer of the Year (CPOY), Patrick won an Award of Excellence for General News and a 2nd place in Documentary Picture Story. He also received an Award of Excellence for Sports Feature Photography from the Arizona Photojournalism Awards. He has also received numerous awards from the NPPA Monthly Clip Contest.
