I am an internationally known visual journalist with extensive print and digital experience, including positions at the Managing Editor for Multimedia for The Washington Post, Director of Photography for the National Geographic Society, and Deputy Graphics Director for The Philadelphia Inquirer. I have created, directed, and edited visual journalism stories that have earned Pulitzer Prizes, as well as Emmy, Peabody and Edward R. Murrow awards. Currently, I am an independent consultant coaching and mentoring individual photographers to help them with multimedia storytelling, portfolio building, publishing, and distribution strategies. I also work with corporations to assess their visual departments and do training on building departments and managing creative talent for optimal performance. In addition, I teach multimedia storytelling courses for universities and speak regularly at multimedia conferences and seminars.
