Polina Yamshchikov

Polina Yamshchikov (b. 1988 in Novosibirsk, Russia, now based in New York City) is a main roster photographer at Redux Pictures, a contract photographer at National Public Radio and a freelance photographer and editor at other national outlets including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and VICE. A graduate of the prestigious photojournalism program at the University of Missouri, she is currently continuing her studies in the fields of economics and American studies at Columbia University. She is interested in exploring the intersections of race, gender and capitalism as well as the tremors of globalization and the latent reverberations of colonialism worldwide. She is currently at work on a book project about the relationships male rap artists have with the women in their lives.
